Hop Around Dana Point with a Brewery Tour

Fill your Dad’s cup with the best brews in Dana Point! All within a mile of one another, these local craft breweries are easily walkable or bike-able. Start at Station Craft Brewery. Just off PCH, this brewery reflects the city’s coastal lifestyle that contrasts typical pub-decor. Grab two leather chairs, a pint of PCH Pilsner and a Bavarian Pretzel to share. Then head to Dana Point Ale House for stop two. Their collection of 24 beers on tap offer a variety of California coastal favorites, a number one pour being the Incog-neat-o IPA. Finish the tour at Delahunt Brewing and Taqueria to satisfy your appetite and quench your thirst! Owner, Todd Delahunt, stole the hearts of South OC locals when he opened doors in 2020. Order a taco sampler and the Overcast Hazy, and gift your dad a 4-pack to-go.

Tee Up at Monarch Beach Golf Links

Nothing says Father’s Day like a round of golf. Sweeping ocean views make the sport all the more spectacular! Monarch Beach Golf Links is set amongst dramatic bluffs and stunning coastal scenes. The par-70 course incorporates Scottish links tradition and public tee times range from sunrise to sunset. Let the coastal fog burn off and make a reservation to tee up in the late afternoon. Dad can even cruise in style with a Golf Board to ride around the course! Walk-on rentals are $35 but are in popular demand, so advanced reservations are recommended. Following the round, refuel with an exquisite dinner next door at the AVEO Table and Bar in the Waldorf Astoria. If local seafood and prime filets are the key to dad’s heart, you’ve unlocked it!

Waterfront Brunch in Laguna Beach

Sunday Brunch never disappoints, especially with Father’s Day specials! All around town, South OC’s favorite coastal eateries are welcoming families for a Father’s Day delight. Reserve an ocean-view table at Las Brisas in Laguna Beach. This historic hot spot has been charming Laguna locals and visitors alike since 1979 with traditional hospitality and panoramic beach views. Fitting with the waterfront setting, Las Brisas’ coastal cuisine is prepared with Mexican influence for full-bodied flavor. Their Father’s Day Brunch starts with refreshing summer fruit drizzled in pan dulce and a crisp seafood tostada. Guests can select from Las Brisas’ menu of seafood-forward mains, including the Crab Omelette with creme fraiche which is light yet decadent at the same time. Menus start at $95 per person.

Surf Day at Trestles Beach

For surfer families, grab the boards and head to Trestles Beach in San Clemente. At the northern tip of San Onofre, Trestles is an infamous local surfing spot in South OC. Beach access is about a mile off Christainitos Road, making Trestles a secluded surfers paradise. The three and a half mile stretch of waves coin the nicknames Uppers, Lowers, Middles, The Church, The Point, Old Man’s and Dog Patch, distinguishing each break. Lowers is the best of the bunch with hollow curls that mimic Australian shore-breaks. Head down in the early morning and surprise Dad by packing The Bagel Shack for a post-surf picnic.
